Coding For Kids
Coding has recently been added to the school curriculum, so teaching it is necessary, but it can also be used as a fun activity to integrate into any lesson. For me, I created a lesson that has the students make their own Rube Goldberg Machine, as we are learning about simple machines and plan to have the students make their own Goldberg Machine in person to wrap up our unit. Using Scratch they can code their machine. This lesson allows them to create and plan their machine using coding and gives them an idea of how the machines should work.
I love the idea of having kids create their own Rube Goldberg Machine! I think that is a great idea and the lesson would be great to learn about machines and parts of machines. My only wish is to include the outcomes!
